The show formally known as “The 7Pm project" was first aired on the 20th of July 2009 as a half and hour show. On the 19th of October 2011 the "6:30 with George Negus" was axed making the now called " The project" an hour long and airing at 6:30.
"The Project" is a less serious/ light hearted news programme and is aimed at teenagers-adults, due to its air time and the humorous content.
It covers many mediums of media such as: Twitter, Facebook, Official website and various unofficial blogs. It has various forms of viewer involvement, such as the studio audience, "Have your say" where viewers and message in and share their opinion of a particular topic, and their social networking accounts.
Since its airing in 2009, it has now become a very successful news show, having a large viewership, having high profile guests on their shows and many sponsors.
